Buffalo Bill performed
in the Central City Opera House on July 29, 1878.
The whip and gauntlets were owned by Buffalo Bill
and are on loan from the Buffalo Bill Museum.
The Buffalo Bill poster dates from 1879 and is
also on loan from the Buffalo Bill Museum. The
theatrical backdrop is from the Nevadaville Theatre,
Nevadaville, CO and dates from the 1860s. The
dress was worn by Elinor Stebbens in "Amelia
Goes To The Ball", 1951

This scene is an adaptation
of the two Oriental opera perfromed in Central
City, "Madam Butterfly" and "The
Mikado". The bridge is a stage prop on loan
from the Opera Association and the kimono is from
the Thomas House Collection of the Gilpin Historical
Society.
