The Saloon

Museum Gift Shop

The backbar is the original from Crook's Palace in Black Hawk. The roulette wheel is said to have been owned by Maxie Tabor, son of Augusta and Horace Tabor.

Our Gift Shop stocks many books on local and Colorado History, along with other fine gift items.

Baby Doe

The Pharmacy

This exhibit recreated Baby Doe Tabor in her cabin at the Matchless Mine in Leadville, CO. "The Ballad of Baby Doe" opera was produced for the Central City Opera Association and had its world premier in Central City during the 1956 season.  Baby Doe once lived in Central City and Black Hawk while she was married to Harvey Doe.

The pharmacy display contains artifacts from the three drug stores that were in Central City. A photograph of the John Best Pharmacy interior was used to recreate this display, including one of the original display cases.

Firefighters Exhibit

This exhibit features fire equipment and memorabilia used in Gilpin County.  The exhibit is sponsored by the City of Black Hawk, CO.
